Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis- Video
Today on our 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis we'll be installing the Tow Ready Circuit Protected Module Light with Four-Pole Harness, part number 119179KIT. To begin our install we'll first need to hook up our new module light and wiring harness. To do that we'll need to locate the manufacturer's wiring that runs to the rear taillights. To do this we'll go ahead and remove the four push pin fasteners securing the rear threshold. Next we'll go ahead and remove the rear threshold and sit it aside. Now by the removing the plastic hold down fastener for the carpeting we can peel back the carpeting along the threshold and behind the driver's side taillight assembly. Here we'll locate the wiring that runs to both taillights. To access the wiring we're going to go ahead and use our utility knife to cut back the electrical tape and cover and remove it so that we can use our test light to probe each wire to locate the running light, turn signal and brake circuits. Now for this application it's a combined setup so the turn signals will also act as the brake light signals. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis- Video
Speaker: Today on our 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis, well be installing the tow ready, upgraded, circuit protected module light with four pull harness and hardwire kit, part number 119179kit. Now to begin with were going to go ahead and pull the interior of the trunk out of this vehicle. To do this well remove four push fasteners, theres also three push fasteners over here on the drivers side that will need to be removed as well. Once we have all the hardware removed, we can go ahead and set the whole trunk lining out. There are sections of this that have hook and loop fasteners together, up on the front portions as well as some of the sides. We simply just lift the part from the part of the interior that will remain. Now with our trunk lining out, well go ahead and locate the wiring harness on both the driver and the passenger side. Well ground our test light off, and then well go ahead and disconnect the wiring harness right here at the tail light. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 1995 Mercury Villager- Video
Today on our 1995 Mercury Villager well be installing the Tow Ready four pole wiring kit part number 119175KIT. First well go ahead and open up the rear cargo door and then were going to go ahead and open up the access panel here on the drivers side. Now well locate the wiring that goes to the rear tail light here on the drivers side. These four wires and the white connector is the connection between the manufacturers harness and the tail light socket. Using a piece of wire or test line well test each one of the wires to locate the drivers running lights, turn signal, and brake light. In summary were connecting the manufacturers green wire with the yellow tracer to the ground wire going to the converter box. more
